Every second counts

So I did it. I completed the Edinburgh marathon. My first marathon since having 3 kids. A marathon where I only ran 2 or 3 times per week in training for all sorts of reasons.
But I did it. And I got in under 5 hours.  Just! Time was 4.59.05! But every second counts…
Full report will follow but first 18 miles was easy and relaxed. I did 20 miles in under 3.40,  which is amazing for me.
Then the sun came out, and I found it tough.  It was a real struggle until 25 miles , when the amazing crowd helped me home with their encouragement.
I did it. That’s the main thing.  Am relieved and pleased and proud. And a bit sore!

    • Haha! I may have had a proecco or two… šŸ˜‰ thank you. Yes- I’m so pleased I got there. And the fab thing about swimming and cycling is that they’ve really helped me recover this week. Cycling back from the station Tuesday was soooo painful!! And I could hardly push off from the wall on Tuesday night at swimming… šŸ˜‰ but it was all better again at last night’s session. And cycling is fine now.

    • Ah thank you so much. Yes- I was looking across at the people running (faster!) in the opposite direction wondering if you were there! šŸ˜‰ I’ll catch up with your race report later, but you did a fantastic time! That is super fabulous! Well done šŸ™‚
